Lars Rehmann (born May 21, 1975 in Leverkusen ) is a former German tennis player .
Life
Rehmann won the German youth championship title in 1993 and was next to Christian Tambue winner in doubles at the junior tournament of the Australian Open . In the same year he reached the finals of the ATP indoor tournament in Sydney alongside Alexander Mronz . Against Patrick McEnroe and Richey Reneberg they lost in two sets.
In 1994 he won the Challenger tournament in Eisenach . In addition, he reached the final of the ATP tournament in Saragossa as a qualifier , in which he was defeated by Magnus Larsson . Together with Udo Riglewski he reached the semi-finals at the challenger tournament in Heilbronn .
In the following year he reached the final of an ATP tournament again and for the last time. In Seoul he was defeated by Greg Rusedski . He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1995 with position 87 in singles and in 1994 with position 142 in doubles. His best individual result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round at the 1995 Australian Open .
He played his last professional game in Dubai in 1998 , after which he retired from professional sport due to hip osteoarthritis. He then studied sports management and between 2000 and 2003 was a junior coach at the TC Blau-Weiß Dresden-Blasewitz . He then moved to LTTC Rot-Weiß Berlin , where he became the club director and tournament director of the Qatar Total German Open women's tennis tournament . After a scandal over the official program booklet, he was released in 2008.
After Rehmann founded his own marketing agency LR Sports , he switched to Sächsische Zeitung in 2007, where he was responsible for the PostModern subsidiary as Head of Sales . In 2011 he moved within the industry to the Madsack media group, where he is managing director of Citipost .
Rehmann is married to the former Austrian tennis player Melanie Schnell, who was ranked 90th in the WTA in 1996 . You have a daughter.
