Lasocice (German Laßwitz ) is a village in Poland in the municipality of Święciechowa ( Schwetzkau ), Greater Poland Voivodeship .
history
The first written mention of the village comes from 1325. The first owners of the village were Mikołaj Kotwicz, Przecław von Lasocic, Mikołaj Lasocki, and Maciej Lasocki . At the beginning of the 15th century, a part of the village belonged to Rafał Leszczyński , later the Leszczyńskis became owners of the whole village. In the 16th century there were two craftsmen, three or four windmills, three sheep farms and a village tavern that got their beer from Leszno. The first note from the Church of St. Francis dates from 1737 . In 1856, Lasocices was connected to the rail network. The church in the village was in a very poor structural condition at the beginning of the 1930s. Therefore, it was auctioned and then demolished. The present church was built in 1930 as a Protestant church and has only been Roman Catholic since 1946. In 1920 the village became part of the re-established Poland and then belonged to the Leszno municipality until 1934 and then to the Święciechowa municipality. Before the outbreak of World War II , 63 percent of the population were German. During an administrative reform, the village came to the newly formed Leszno Voivodeship in 1975 . After its dissolution, Lasocice was part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
