Lachesar Gyumow ( Bulgarian Лъчезар Гюмов ; born August 15, 1986 ) is a former Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been playing for NSA Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league since 2015 .

Career

Lachesar Gyumow comes from the youth department of HK Levski Sofia . In 2002 he moved to local rivals HK CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league . After three years he moved on to HK Slawia Sofia and in 2006 to Akademik Sofia . With Akademik he won both the Bulgarian national championship title and the national cup competition in 2007 . He later returned to Slavia and was able to win the double of championship and cup victory again with the Bulgarian record champions in 2011 and the championship title again in the following year, before ending his career in 2012 for the time being. Since 2015 he has been back in the Bulgarian league for NSA Sofia .

International

Gmumow played in the junior division with Bulgaria at the U18 World Championships in 2001 , 2002 and 2004 in Division III and 2003 in Division II as well as at the U20 World Championships in Division III in 2002 , 2004 , 2005 and 2006 and Division II in 2003 .

Gyumow made his first World Cup appearance in the Bulgarian men's national team in 2011 in Division II, when relegation was secured by a 6-0 win in the decisive game against relegated Ireland . After that, it was not taken into account again until 2016 . This time, however, the Bulgarians had to accept relegation to Division III.
