The Lauda-Königshofen area is a protected landscape area (LSG number 1.28.015) designated by ordinance of May 10, 2005 in the Baden-Württemberg community of Lauda-Königshofen in the Main-Tauber district in Germany .

location

The approximately 3,181 hectare Lauda-Königshofen nature reserve is part of the Tauberland . It lies in the area of ​​the municipality of Lauda-Königshofen. The landscape protection area is limited by some municipal boundaries. The Distelhausen district in the north and Edelfingen in the south serve this purpose .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the uniqueness and beauty of the special landscape character and its formative topographical formations and its landscape elements. Above all, the flowing waters, the valleys, blades and slopes with their wide-ranging structural pattern should be protected. These consist of scattered fruit elements, field hedges and trees.

Furthermore, the stone bars , limestone grasslands , rock formations, meadows and pastures, fields, vineyards, forest and bush zones are to be preserved. These areas are intended to offer a retreat for the native fauna. This area is also intended to serve as a recreational area for the general public.
