Lauren Cohan (born January 7, 1982 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actress .

Life

Lauren Cohan was born in Philadelphia and lived in Cherry Hill Township , New Jersey before moving to the UK , where her mother is from. Cohan studied drama and English literature there at the University of Winchester . She then went on a journey with the theater group that was co-founded there and worked on various projects in London and Los Angeles .

Her first major role was Sister Beatrice at the side of Heath Ledger and Sienna Miller in Casanova . Then she got a leading role in the film Party Animals 2 - The legend goes on .

This was followed by a number of guest roles in various television series, such as in Supernatural as Bela Talbot , in Vampire Diaries as Rose and in Chuck as Vivian Volkoff . From 2011 to 2019, Cohan was part of the cast of The Walking Dead as Maggie Greene .

In 2016 she was seen in the cinema as Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at the side of her The Walking Dead colleague Jeffrey Dean Morgan .
