Legefeld is a district of the independent city of Weimar in Thuringia .

The district to the southwest of the city center covers an area of ​​5.5 km². Legefeld is located southwest of the former city limits and south of the federal highway 4 and close to the federal highway 85 in hilly terrain to the forests around Troistedt . The municipal area of the district is located on the southern edge of the Thuringian basin .

Legefeld stop (2017)

The village was first mentioned on May 13, 1290. A residential village has recently developed from a farming village, as the growing number of residents confirms. The district had 1,844 inhabitants on December 31, 2008. The district mayor is Petra Seidel. Legefeld with its industrial park is located south of the A4 directly at the “Weimar” motorway exit and directly on the B85 .

Holzdorf belongs to Legefeld , which until 1994 was part of the then independent municipality of Legefeld. Both are now part of Weimar as the Legefeld / Holzdorf district.

Holzdorf has a train station, Legefeld has a stop on the Weimar – Kranichfeld branch line . This railway line was formerly called "Berk'sche Bimmelbahn" or called "Kranichexpress". It has a traditional character and connects the city of Weimar with the city of Kranichfeld via Bad Berka .
