Leisenau is about 6 km northwest of the city of Colditz and is directly connected to it by the B 107 .
history
As a Slavic settlement, Leisenau was first mentioned in documents in 1362 under the name Leyznaw . The independent municipality was assigned to the municipality of Großbothen as part of a regional reform in 1994 . Since the dissolution of the municipality of Großbothen in 2011, Leisenau has belonged to the city of Colditz.
