Leni Wesselman

Leni Wesselman (born May 29, 1985 in Munich ) is a German actress .

Life

Leni Wesselman grew up in Munich. After graduating from high school, she first studied art and multimedia at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . During her studies, which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 , she starred in several short films. She made her cinema debut in 2009 in the psychological drama Mein , directed by Detlef Bothe . The film, in which she plays the female lead, premiered internationally at the World Film Festival in Montreal and nationally at the Oldenburg International Film Festival .

Other roles followed u. a. in Andreas Dresens When We Dreamed (Competition Berlinale 2015). The German / Serbian co-production Open Cage , in which she plays a leading role, celebrated its world premiere at Emir Kusturica's film festival in Küstendorf (Serbia). For her performance in Open Cage she won the 2015 Special Jury Award for “Best Actress” in Niš (Serbia).

Leni Wesselman lives in Berlin and Munich.
