Lenke (Polish: Łąka ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Lenke is located in the rural municipality of Zembowitz (Zębowice) in the powiat Oleski (Rosenberg OS district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

history

The place was first mentioned in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as "Lanca". This was written between 1295 and 1305. In 1818 the place had a farmer, 17 gardeners, two farms and two water mills. In 1865 Lenke consisted of the three communities Ober-Lenke, Nieder-Lenke and Antheil-Lenke. Ober-Lenke had a miller, a farmer, nine gardeners and three cottagers. Nieder-Lenke had a miller, five gardeners and a housekeeper. Antheil-Lenke had a gardener and two cottagers.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 137 eligible voters voted to remain in Germany and 62 to belong to Poland. Lenke remained with the German Empire . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Łąka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place became part of the Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 it has belonged to the Powiat Oleski . On October 23, 2007 , German was introduced as the second official language in the Zembowitz community to which Lenke belongs. On November 19, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Lenke . Until February 2011 the place had its own Schulzenamt, since March 1st 2011 it belongs to the Schulzenamt Radau .
