Pruskau (Polish Prusków ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Pruskau is located in the municipality of Zembowitz ( Zębowice ) in the powiat Oleski (Rosenberg OS district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Pruskau is three kilometers north of Zembowitz , 12 kilometers southwest of the district town of Olesno (Rosenberg OS) and 32 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Neighboring towns of Pruskau are Schiedlisk ( Siedliska ) and Oschietzko ( Osiecko ) in the east, Zembowitz in the south and Nowa Wieś (Neudorf) in the south-west .

history

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 93 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 80 for Poland. Pruskau remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 241 inhabitants. On April 27, 1936, the place was renamed Prussia . In 1939 Prussia was incorporated into Föhrendorf . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Prusków and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to Powiat Oleski . On October 23, 2007 , German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Zembowitz , which Pruskau belongs to. On November 19, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Pruskau .
