Lennie Pond (born August 11, 1940 in Ettrick , Virginia , † February 10, 2016 in Richmond , Virginia) was an American racing driver who competed in NASCAR's highest division, today's Sprint Cup , from 1969 to 1989 .

In 1969 and 1970 Pond only took part in one race. After a two-year hiatus, he decided to drive a large part of the 1973 season . Nine times he finished in the top 10 and once in the top 5. These accomplishments were enough to win the 1973 NASCAR Rookie of the Year Award . His first and only win was on August 6, 1978 in the Talladega 500 at Alabama International Motor Speedway , now known as Talladega Superspeedway. Until 1985 he took part in at least ten races each season. In 1986 and 1987 he was not active in NASCAR, in 1988 and 1989 he only drove one race each.

Pond contested 234 races in his career. He came 39 times in the top 5 and 88 times in the top 10.
