Leonardo Bertone (born March 14, 1994 in Wohlen near Bern ) is a Swiss football player who plays in the defensive midfield.

Career

Bertone joined the junior division of BSC Young Boys at the age of ten . He made his Super League debut in the 2011/12 season . Due to the competition from Sékou Sanogo , Moreno Costanzo and Milan Gajić , he could not initially fight for a regular place.

After Bertone had been used more and more by coach Adi Hütter in the following years up to the championship season of the Young Boys 2017/18 , he received less match practice again under the new coach Gerardo Seoane for the 2018/19 season . For this reason, Bertone decided to leave the BSC Young Boys in the winter break of the 2018/19 season in the direction of the MLS promoted FC Cincinnati .

In the winter of the 2019/2020 season, Bertone moved back to Switzerland for FC Thun .
