Andreas Hirzel (born March 25, 1993 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper who has been under contract with FC Thun since the 2019/20 season .

Career

Hirzel began his career in the youth team at FC Urdorf before moving to the youth department at FC Aarau in 2004 . For the 2010/11 season he moved up to the U-21, which played as Team Aargau - a merger to promote talent of the three clubs FC Aarau, FC Baden and FC Wohlen from the canton of Aargau - in the fifth-class 2nd league interregionally . There Hirzel made his first appearances in the men's area and sat on the bench for the first time with the first team of FC Aarau in the game against Servette FC Genève on the eleventh day of the Challenge League . For the 2011/12 season Hirzel was loaned to SC Zofingen . There he came to 30 missions in the fourth-class 1st League Classic .

In the 2012/13 season he moved up to the squad of the first team of FC Aarau and was loaned for the entire season to Grasshopper Club Zurich , for whose second team he was used in the fourth-class first division . Subsequently, Hirzel was loaned to the partner club FC Baden for the 2013/14 season. After eight appearances in the first division, he loaned Hirzel out from October to November 2013 to league rivals FC Wangen bei Olten . After two missions he returned to Baden and had six more missions by the end of the season.

For the 2014/15 season , Hirzel moved to the Liechtenstein club FC Vaduz , which takes part in Swiss games. There he was loaned to FC Tuggen from the end of September to mid-October , for which he was once used in the third-rate Promotion League . After returning to Vaduz, he only played in the Liechtenstein Cup and made his professional debut in the Super League on the last day of the match in a 2-1 win over BSC Young Boys . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, Hirzel played in the first qualifying round of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League in a 5-1 win against SP La Fiorita .

In mid-July 2015, Hirzel moved to the German Bundesliga for Hamburger SV . He received a contract valid until June 30, 2018 and took the position of third goalkeeper behind René Adler and Jaroslav Drobný . There he made his debut on the third match day of the 2015/16 season in the 1: 2 defeat in the away game against 1. FC Köln when he came on for the injured René Adler. In addition to a Bundesliga assignment, he made eleven appearances in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord . After injuries, he lost his place as the third goalkeeper of the first team to Tom Mickel . Also in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons , Hizel was fourth goalkeeper and was not used for the professionals. While he made six appearances in the Regionalliga Nord in the 2016/17 season, he was completely without an assignment in the 2017/18 season. After the end of this season, in which HSV was relegated from the Bundesliga for the first time, he left the club when his contract expired.

For the season 2018/19 returned to Hirzel FC Vaduz back. He signed with the club from Liechtenstein , which plays in the second highest Swiss league . In the summer of 2019 Hirzel moved to the top Swiss division for FC Thun , where he made his debut in the Cup against FC Sion.
