Leonie Welsch (born January 29, 1996 in Filderstadt ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Welsch began playing volleyball at the age of seven and played for TV Rottenburg as a teenager . With the youth selection of Baden-Wuerttemberg, she came third at the Bundespokal in Hanover in 2012 . In 2014/15, Welsch played in the second Bundesliga at Allianz MTV Stuttgart II .

Career Beach

Welsch has also been playing beach volleyball since 2010. Her standard partner since 2013 was Lisa Arnholdt from Mutlangen , with whom she became German U19 runner-up in Kiel in their first year and German U18 champion in Grimma . She then became Vice European Champion at the side of Sarah Schneider at the U18 European Championships in Maladseschna, Belarus . In 2014 Welsch and Constanze Bieneck finished ninth at the U19 World Cup in Porto . In 2015 Welsch won the German U20 championship with Arnholdt in Dresden . Welsch played together with Leonie Klinke at the U20 World Cup in Larnaka . In the quarterfinals, she injured her cruciate ligament and then fell out for almost a year. In 2017/2018 Welsch played again with Lisa Arnholdt, with whom she was third at the U22 European Championships in Baden . For 2019, Anika Krebs was her partner.

Professional

Welsch studies psychology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .
