Leopold von Rath

Leopold von Rath († before 1790 in Silesia ) was a Prussian colonel and commander of the 5th standing grenadier battalion .

Life

Rath came from a noble family in Anhalt . He joined in 1741 from Württemberg in Prussian military service and was a Captain in the Infantry Regiment. 26 grouped. In his first year of service he was transferred to Garrison Regiment No. V and advanced there to colonel.

In 1753 he was commander of the stationary V. grenadier battalion, consisting of the grenadier companies of Garrison regiments no. V "Mützschefall" and no. X "Blanckensee" was formed.

He took part in all the Silesian Wars for the Prussians, but had to say goodbye in 1759 for health reasons and died "a few years" before 1790 in Silesia.
