The Estemünde lighthouse was a beacon at the confluence of the Este in the Elbe in Hamburg 's Neuenfelde district .
The then black and white striped concrete tower stands at the Este barrage at Mühlenberger Loch not far from the Sietas shipyard near the Airbus factory in Finkenwerder .
The lighthouse began operating on March 15, 1967. He had a belt optic VI. Order, which was taken over from the old light beacon Cranz, with a 100-watt incandescent lamp . After the fire was extinguished on May 24, 1995 and the tower was given a new white-gray paint job, it was finally shut down in August 2001.
