The Oberfeuer Blankenese lighthouse , together with the Unterfeuer Blankenese lighthouse, has formed the leading light line Blankenese for ships traveling up the Elbe , with 8,410 meters the longest in the Lower Elbe , in the Hamburg district of Blankenese .

description

The 40 meter high, white and red striped concrete tower with a red steel lantern house was built in 1983. It is in Baurs Park on Kanonenberg, around 1,340 meters from the lower fire. The eleven-tonne lantern house was assembled using a mobile crane. Due to its height, the tower has obstruction lights for air traffic. The lighthouse is controlled remotely from the nautical center Seemannshöft .

New building

In the course of deepening the Elbe, the current tower will be demolished and replaced by a new building more than 60 m high. Construction work on the new tower began in autumn 2019.
