The lighthouse Oberfeuer Bubendey-Ufer together with the lighthouse Unterfeuer Bubendey-Ufer forms the leading light line Bubendey-Ufer for ships traveling up the Elbe in the Hamburg district of Waltershof .
The tower is striped red and white and has a red lantern house. It is located around 1,010 meters from the Unterfeuer directly at the western entrance to the Parkhafen, for which it has no meaning.
New building
A new construction of the upper light was planned for 2013/14, as the previous upper and lower lights had to be demolished due to the expansion of a terminal. The new top light will then have a height of 99.2 meters and thus tower over the highest lighthouse in Europe so far, the Phare de l'Île Vierge in Brittany , by around 16 meters. In order to avoid the risk of confusion with container cranes, the tower will be striped in black and white. As of May 2017, work has not yet started.
