biography

Leyti Seck was born in Munich to a German mother and a Senegalese father. He came to a foster family in Strobl on Wolfgangsee in Austria as a baby and grew up there. Seck is an Austrian-Senegalese citizen and skied for the first time at the age of seven. Seck first took part in FIS races in 2002 after he was accepted into the association by the President and founder of the Senegalese Ski Association, Lamine Guèye . In 2003 he started at the World Championships in St. Moritz , where he was 55th in slalom and 61st in giant slalom. In the next few years, Seck took part in several World Cup races in Austria in these two disciplines . He made his debut on October 23, 2003 in the giant slalom in Sölden , and for the ninth and last time he competed in the Kitzbühel slalom in the World Cup on January 28, 2007 . If he crossed the finish line in the first run - which he succeeded five times - he was only ever among the last three, which meant that he clearly failed in qualifying for the second run of the top 30 every time.

In February 2005 Seck took part in a world championship for the second time in Bormio . This time he was 54th in the giant slalom, but retired in the first slalom run. 2006 the first participation in the Olympic Winter Games followed in Turin . He was the only active player in his country, was 55th in the Super-G and was eliminated in the slalom and giant slalom in the first round. At that time, Seck was being trained by the former Austrian ski racer Roland Assinger , a colleague who studied sports science at the University of Salzburg . Secks was also planning to take part in the 2007 World Championships in Åre , but due to the short-term decision of the International Ski Federation , Lamine decided to hold a qualifying race in the slalom in addition to the giant slalom, which had been planned for a long time, on the day before the actual World Cup race Guèye, President of the Senegalese Ski Association, Seck back from the start at his request. Seck was back at the start at the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère . He only took part in the slalom, but retired in the first run of the qualifying race. At the 2010 Winter Olympics - his last competitions in alpine skiing - Seck was also eliminated in slalom. In the giant slalom, he finished 73rd out of 81 runners.

As a football player, Seck is active at SK Strobl in the 2nd regional division north. From the beginning of the 2010/2011 season until the end of the 2011 autumn season he was the coach of the USK Hof women's soccer team in the ÖFB women's league , which entered into a syndicate with FC Bergheim in 2011 .
