Lilium callosum is a species from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ) in the Asiatic section .
description
Lilium callosum reaches a height of between 20 cm and 100 cm. The bulbs are rounded, flattened, and covered with white to pale yellow scales. The stem is covered with white, short, hard hair. The leaves are lanceolate , about 0.1 to 0.8 cm wide and 3 to 13 cm long and distributed around the stem. They are annoying and papillary towards the edge . The bracts (bracts) are linear and apical thickened.
The plant usually blooms from July to August with a single, seldom up to nine , pan-shaped flowers, nodding in a panicle , with a glossy texture. The hermaphrodite flowers are threefold. The six spatulate, bent-back bracts are designed in the same way ( tepals ). The color of the flowers is red or light red, almost undotted. There are three carpels and six stamens per flower. The anthers are approximately 7 mm long, the filaments 20 to 25 mm.
The seed of Lilium callosum germinates instantly and epigeously .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Lilium callosum prefers grassy slopes from loamy soils at altitudes between 100 m and 900 m above sea level.
Lilium callosum is endemic to the provinces of Anhui , Guangdong , Guangxi , Henan , Jiangsu , Jilin , Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia in northern China . It can also be found in Taiwan , Japan , Korea and Russia in the Primorye region .
