The Town of Lima is located in southwest Wisconsin, around 30 km east of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa . The Illinois border is around 30 km south.

The Wisconsin State Highway 80 runs through the east of the Town of Lime in a north-south direction . In the extreme southwest, a short section of the Wisconsin State Highway 81 leads through the area of the town, as well as further north the County Highways A and D. All other roads are subordinate highways or partly unpaved roads.
The Platteville Municipal Airport is about 15 km south of a small airfield. The nearest major airport is Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 120 km east-northeast).
