biography

Rizzo grew up in her native city. Her grandparents on both sides came from Sicily .

Model years

At the age of 18 she worked in New York for the first time as a photo model, then initially for three years as a model for print media and television advertising in Milan for Amica , Laura Biagiotti etc., then two years in Lisbon for Mulher de Hoje , Schweppes etc.

Music, entertainment and gastronomy

In Milan, Rizzo made first contacts with the music scene as a background singer with Adriano Celentano . At 23, she returned to New York to study nutrition at college. When she was 25 years old, Bobby Orlando noticed her at a meal with music producers, whom Rizzo also knew from her modeling days in Milan . Orlando immediately engaged her as a singer for his girl group " The Flirts ", where she sang on the album Born to Flirt (1983) and toured Europe for the first time in 1984/85. The flirting single Passion reached the top 10 in Germany and Switzerland . By her own admission, she can no longer remember exactly which songs she sang for Orlando in the studio. Some of them were used for flirting, others for other projects.

Already in 1984 on tour with the Flirts, Rizzo decided to go to Germany. After separating from the flirts and breaking off contact with Orlando, she toured successfully solo as a singer and entertainer through the United States and Europe from 1985. In 1988 she settled in Munich , where she has been presented at the Oktoberfest since 1999 as the “star guest” of the Hippodrom festival tent. From 2000 to August 3, 2008 she ran the music restaurant “Piazza Linda” with daily live music. She was therefore even compared with the Schwabing Gisela . To say goodbye to the restaurant, she and many other international artists presented the first commemorative CD Linda Jo Rizzo & Friends .

Rizzo published and produced over 20 records and CDs with some well-known producers such as Fancy , Glen P. Stone , Joe Kleindienst , Mino Siciliano and La Bionda . She works as an entertainer at large and small events all over Europe, has made guest appearances on numerous television shows and has appeared as opening act or co-star at the side of stars such as Dieter Bohlen , CC Catch , George McCrae , Carl Douglas , Bonnie Tyler , Al Bano , Umberto Tozzi , Jürgen Drews , Haddaway and many other well-known musicians.
