List of cultural assets in Saicourt

The list of cultural assets in Saicourt contains all objects in the municipality of Saicourt in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of 29 June 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

In 1140 founded the former convent of the Norbertine secularized in 1797 and used as a psychiatric hospital since 1,891th The convent buildings that exist today were built between 1728 and 1738 and are the largest baroque architectural complex in the canton of Bern. The building ensemble comprises three U-shaped wings around an inner courtyard, interrupted by four corner pavilions. In the north is the abbey church (a little off the axis).

The former abbey church, built by Franz Beer between 1708 and 1714 , is considered a masterpiece of baroque architecture and is the westernmost representative of a pillar church based on the Vorarlberg cathedral scheme . Simple plastered building with a slightly protruding transept , retracted square altar house and a two-tower front in Hausein . Inside, there is a large room with retracted wall pillars, to which cranked Corinthian pilasters are hidden under warrior beams; above barrel vault with stitch caps .
