List of National Historic Sites of Canada in Prince Edward Island

This list includes all buildings, objects and sites in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island that have the status of a National Historic Site of Canada (French lieu historique national du Canada ). The Canadian Department for the Environment added 22 sites to this list. Parks Canada manages five of these .

All Souls Chapel	1888 (end of construction)	1990	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 2 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 58"  W.	Small rust-red sandstone chapel attached to St. Peters Anglican Cathedral ; known as an outstanding example of neo-Gothic architecture in Canada and for the 18 murals by Robert Harris .
Apothecaries Hall	1900 (end of construction)	1969	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 5 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 41"  W.	Three-story brick building that housed a pharmacy from 1810 to 1986 (one of the oldest continuously operating pharmacies in Canada).
Ardgowan	1850 (end of construction)	1966	Charlottetown 46 ° 15 ′ 7 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 35"  W.	Residence of William Henry Pope , one of the Fathers of the Confederation ; during the Charlottetown conference , the Popes hosted George Brown and invited the delegates to lunch.
Kensington Railway Station	1904 (end of construction)	1976	Kensington 46 ° 26 ′ 16 ″  N , 63 ° 38 ′ 20 ″  W.	Fieldstone station building with a high gable roof and covered platforms, originally built for the Prince Edward Island Railway ; reminds of the development of the railroad in the maritime provinces and is one of the rare remaining train stations on Prince Edward Island.
Charlottetown City Hall	1888 (end of construction)	1984	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 '7 "  N , 63 ° 7' 47"  W.	Neo-Romanesque town hall; its design symbolizes the growth and prosperity of Prince Edward Island and its capital in the late 19th century.
Confederation Center of the Arts	1964 (end of construction)	2003	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 4 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 36"  W.	Multi-purpose cultural center in brutalist style with theater, art museum and public library; built in memory of the Confederate Fathers who met at the Charlottetown Conference ; the building is representative of numerous cultural centers that were built in Canada in the 1960s and 1970s.
Dalvay-by-the-Sea	1899 (end of construction)	1990	Prince Edward Island National Park 46 ° 24 ′ 53 ″  N , 63 ° 4 ′ 24 ″  W	Summer residence built for Alexander McDonald, President of Standard Oil of Kentucky ; the building now used as a hotel is a well-known example of the Queen Anne style .

Fairholm	1839 (end of construction)	1992	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 18 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 38"  W.	Brick villa built for Thomas Heath Haviland senior; an excellent and rare surviving example of a Picturesque villa in the Atlantic provinces .
Farmers' Bank of Rustico	1863 (end of construction)	1959	North Rustico 46 ° 25 ′ 24 ″  N , 63 ° 17 ′ 0 ″  W.	Stone building that housed one of the country's first cooperative banks and mainly served the rural Acadian population; Milestone in the development of credit unions in Canada.
Government House	1834 (end of construction)	1971	Charlottetown 46 ° 13 ′ 52 ″  N , 63 ° 8 ′ 10 ″  W.	Official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island; large neoclassical house with portico and clapboard facade.
Great George Street Historic District		1990	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 2 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 28"  W.	Broad Street in Charlottetown that starts on the waterfront and ends at Province House ; the view from Peake's Quay contains many elements that the Confederate Fathers encountered in 1864 on their way to the Charlottetown Conference .
LM Montgomery's Cavendish		2004	Cavendish 46 ° 29 ′ 16 ″  N , 63 ° 22 ′ 55 ″  W.	Cultural landscape near the village of Cavendish, which Lucy Maud Montgomery made famous around the world in her children's book Anne on Green Gables .
Jean-Pierre Roma at Three Rivers	1732-1745	1933	Brudenell 46 ° 10 ′ 55 ″  N , 62 ° 33 ′ 37 ″  W.	Remains of an Acadian fishing and trading settlement in the first half of the 18th century; Ruins of unidentified 19th century buildings.
Port-la-Joye-Fort Amherst	1720 (foundation)	1958	Rocky Point 46 ° 11 ′ 41 ″  N , 63 ° 8 ′ 20 ″  W.	Hilly landscape on the west bank of the canal-like entrance to Charlottetown Harbor, with the remains of an 18th century French fort that was later conquered by the British ; the place was the seat of government and port of entry for settlers.
Province House	1847 (end of construction)	1966	Charlottetown 46 ° 14 ′ 6 "  N , 63 ° 7 ′ 34"  W.	Large neoclassical- style public building and dominant building on Queen Square; Seat of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island and second oldest parliament building in Canada; Location of the Charlottetown Conference in 1864.

Large Roman Catholic cathedral in the rank of a basilica minor and seat of the Diocese of Charlottetown ; imposing building in neo-Gothic style with two towers, slender spiers and triple portal; Mixing of French and English influences.
Strathgartney Homestead	1868 (end of construction)	1996	Bonshaw 46 ° 12 ′ 3 ″  N , 63 ° 21 ′ 17 ″  W.	Remaining part of the 200 hectare estate of the large landowner Robert Bruce Stewart, consisting of the manor house, coach house and seven farm buildings; important testimony to the earlier manorial system.
Summerside Post Office	1887 (end of construction)	1983	Summerside 46 ° 23 ′ 36 "  N , 63 ° 47 ′ 26"  W.	Former post office with Gothic and Romanesque style elements; on behalf of the small municipal post offices that were built by the Ministry of Public Works during the tenure of chief architect Thomas Fuller .
Tryon United Church	1881 (end of construction)	1990	Tryon 46 ° 14 ′ 29 ″  N , 63 ° 30 ′ 7 ″  W.	Wooden Methodist church in neo-Gothic style designed by renowned architect William Critchlow Harris ; this building with its simple shapes is typical of churches in rural areas.
