List of natural monuments in Innsbruck

The list of natural monuments in the Innsbruck district lists all objects designated as natural monuments in the city of Innsbruck in the state of Tyrol . The 32 natural monuments consist almost exclusively of trees or groups of trees as well as a glacier mill and a meadow or forest biotope.

		Hop beeches in the Mühlauer Klamm	ND_101_16	Innsbruck KG:  Arzl GrStNr: 2097/1 location	The hop beeches ( Ostrya carpinifolia ) represent the northernmost known occurrence of this species in Central Europe. The many-stemmed, bush-shaped trees are along the path west of the Mühlauer Bach opposite the Teufelskanzel. Numerous young hop beeches grow in the gorge.		1931

		Sequoia in Mühlau	ND_101_26	Innsbruck , Oberkoflerweg 5 KG:  Mühlau GrStNr: 480/4 location	At the time of the investigation, the mighty sequoia was 25 m high and more than 100 years old.		1985
		Oak at the Dollinger Inn on the Inn promenade	ND_101_11	Innsbruck , Haller Straße 5, opposite KG:  Mühlau GrStNr: 425/1 location	The English oak ( Quercus robur ) is located in a small park on the Inn next to the fire station . At the time of the investigation, it had a height of 20 m and a trunk diameter of almost 1 m.		1940

		Winter linden tree on the Hungerburg	ND_101_18	Innsbruck , Höhenstraße 143 KG:  Hötting, Mühlau location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ) stands behind the “Zur Linde” inn below the valley station of the Nordkettenbahn. At the time of the investigation, it had a height of 30 m and a crown diameter of 15 m. The trunk had a diameter of about one meter at the base.		1947
		Oak in Hötting Schulgasse	ND_101_10	Innsbruck , Schulgasse KG:  Hötting GrStNr: 318/2 location	The very old English oak ( Quercus robur ) had a height of almost 30 m and a trunk circumference of 3.5 m at the time of the investigation. It is at the Schulgasse fork in the road and the approach to the retirement home.		1940
		Two locust trees near the old Höttinger church	ND_101_22	Innsbruck , Steinbruchstrasse KG:  Hötting location	The two old black locust trees ( Robinia pseudoacacia ) are in a small park north of the Höttinger cemetery. The larger of the two trees was 23 m high at the time of the investigation, its trunk had a diameter of more than 1 m at the base and was covered with ivy. Note: Coordinates not saved		1978
		Old pine above the Planötzenhof	ND_101_13	Innsbruck KG:  Hötting location	The old pine is one of the oldest natural monuments in Tyrol. It is located at a fork in the road about 100 m above the Planötzenhof. Originally, the tree split into three trunks about 4 m above the ground, but the main trunk and lower branches had to be removed.		1928
		Galgenbühel	ND_101_28	Innsbruck KG:  Hötting GrStNr: 999/1 location	The Galgenbühel or Galgenbichl is a moraine hill, which is one of the last remaining grassland islands in the built-up area of ​​the Allerheiligenhöfe. The biotope complex consists of a species-rich semi-arid grassland on the eastern slope and an old oak and pine forest on the western side.		1996

		Winter linden tree on the Lindenbühel next to Schneeburggasse	ND_101_20	Innsbruck , Schneeburggasse KG:  Hötting location	The tall winter linden ( Tilia cordata ) is more than 100 years old and is the last old tree of the former Lindenbühel east of the Leonhard Chapel. 		Three black pines at the campsite in Kranebitten	ND_101_21	Innsbruck KG:  Hötting location	The large black pines are on the eastern edge of the Kranebitten campsite. The trees have a height of around 27 m and a circumference of 2 to 3 m at the base of the trunk. Note: like? at least one of them?		1977
		Black pine and three yew trees opposite the entrance to the Folklore Museum	ND_101_25	Innsbruck , Rennweg 2 KG:  Innsbruck GrStNr: 597/3 location	Since 2005 the natural monument has only consisted of a black pine, as the yew trees had to be felled. The black pine has a height of more than 10 m and a circumference of 3 m at the base of the trunk.		1984
		Oak at the Stadtsaalcafe on Rennweg	ND_101_24	Innsbruck , Rennweg 2 KG:  Innsbruck GrStNr: 597/3 location	The pyramid-shaped oak probably comes from North America or East Asia. The tree has a pointed growth shape and snake-shaped branches. The tree has a height of more than 20 m and a circumference of more than 3 m.		1984
		Copper beech at the Landestheater am Rennweg	ND_101_23	Innsbruck , Rennweg 2 KG:  Innsbruck GrStNr: 597/3 location	The copper beech next to the Leopoldsbrunnen is around 15 m high and has a circumference of more than 4 m at the base of the trunk.		1983
		Oak on the corner of Meinhardstrasse and Brixner Strasse	ND_101_7	Innsbruck , Meinhardstraße 13 / Brixner Straße 1 KG:  Innsbruck location	The pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ) has a very distinctive effect on its surroundings. The oak has a circumference of around 2 m at the base of the trunk, its crown extends beyond the 5th floor of the Chamber of Agriculture.		1934
		Horse chestnut trees	ND_101_32	Innsbruck , König-Laurin-Straße KG:  Innsbruck location	The horse chestnut trees form an avenue on König-Laurin-Strasse and the Sill Canal.		2001
		Two plane trees by the wayside chapel between Mühlau and Arzl	ND_101_15	Innsbruck KG:  Arzl GrStNr: 1515 location	The two plane trees stand directly above Arzlerstrasse on the slope to the east and west of the baroque Mariahilf chapel.		1931
		Copper beech south of the Pradel Church	ND_101_29	Innsbruck , Landseestraße 14 KG:  Pradl GrStNr: 1467/48 location	The approximately 12 m high copper beech ( Fagus sylvatica f. Purpurea ) has a crown that is almost wider than it is high.		1996
		Linden tree under the Bergisel	ND_101_9	Innsbruck , Brennerstraße 6f KG:  Wilten location	The winter linden ( Tilia cordata ) is over 100 years old. The tree stands next to a weeping willow and is more than 25 m high.		1937
		Föhrengruppe over the Igler Straße	ND_101_2	Innsbruck KG:  Wilten location	The pines are on a hill opposite a bus stop. Originally 10 to 12 older pines were protected here, but individual trees had to be felled.		1926
		Oak on Völserstraße	ND_101_6	Innsbruck KG:  Wilten location	The pedunculate oak , which is more than 100 years old, stands west of the Geroldbach translation and the animal shelter. Its height is around 20 m, its circumference at the base of the trunk is around 3.2 m. The original double oak lost its western trunk some time ago.		1939

		Pyramid poplars on the Hohe Weg	NDW_101_3	Innsbruck location	The originally 16 pyramid poplars on Hohen Weg were placed under protection in 1930. In 1953 the protection was partially lifted, in 1983 completely. The two remaining poplars were severely cut back, but still represent an important part of the very impoverished bank vegetation along the Inn.		1930
