List of nature reserves in Tyrol
In Tyrol there are 24 nature reserves ( NSG ) with a total area of around 755 km² (as of the end of 2015). The nature reserves make up about a quarter of the protected areas (81 areas) and the protected areas of the state of Tyrol . Three of the areas are cross-border to Bavaria ( NSGA ).
The nature reserve in Tyrolean nature conservation law
The § 21 Tyrolean Nature Conservation Act 2005 (TNSchG 2005) governs the protection category very detailed and comes individually prohibitions and exceptions use one. The specific regulations are laid down by ordinance for each individual protected area .
"The state government can outside built-up areas lying areas caused by a special variety of animal and plant life are excellent or where rare or of extinction endangered plant or animal species or rare communities of animals or plants occur by regulation declare to nature reserves, if the preservation of these areas is in the public , such as in the scientific interest. "
They generally serve the " protection of the flora and fauna and inanimate nature" (4th section of the law, on § 21). An express protection purpose must be specified for the nature reserve (Section 21, line 2)
Measures of " normal " agricultural and forestry use as well as hunting and fishing are excluded if the protective purpose is not impaired (§ 21 Z.3). Nature reserves can therefore include both pure natural landscapes and cultural landscapes (such as alpine pastures , hay meadows , etc.), but the focus is on nature conservation.
