Faggen is a municipality with 390 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the district of Landeck , in the state of Tyrol ( Austria ). The municipality is part of the Landeck judicial district .

The community belongs to the Kaunergrat Nature Park.

geography

Faggen is the smallest sized municipality in the High Court , the upper portion of the Upper Inn Valley , and is largely in the alluvial fan of the Kaunertal flowing forth Faggenbachs . The Romanesque place name means "place in the area of ​​crossing a water divided into arms". The municipal area also includes isolated hamlets north of the village center.

The hamlets are as follows: Aussergufer, Untergufer, Obergufer, Innergufer, Oberfaggen, Unterfaggen, Prutz.

history

Faggen was originally part of the judicial district of Ried in Tirol and after its dissolution in 1978 it became part of the judicial district of Landeck.
