Culture and sights
- Parish Church Feichten Holy Trinity
- Kaltenbrunn Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary: The church is located in the front part of the valley at an altitude of 1260 m. In 1272 the knight Erbo Schenkenberg from Völs am Schlern is said to have built a chapel as a penance for a murder. A miraculous image from the 14th century made it a place of pilgrimage for the mercenaries. It houses altar figures from around 1720 and a crucifix from 1697.
- As a local museum, the valley museum in the Platz area shows objects from the old ways of life and economy, a mineral collection, exhibits on mining and alpinism and the transportable workshop of a hiking shoemaker.
Economy and Infrastructure
The community did not experience a gradual economic upturn until the late 1950s. In the rearmost Kaunertal is the six-kilometer-long Gepatsch reservoir , which was laid out between 1961 and 1964 and which also receives water from the Taschachbach in the rear Pitztal and whose water is led to the power house via a 13.2 km long pressurized water pipe to Prutz in the Inn Valley .
The Kaunertal Gletscher glacier ski area (Kaunertaler Gletscherbahn) in the rear of the Kaunertal with the development of the Weißseeferner , which has been accessible via the toll road Kaunertal Glacier Road since 1982 , brought further economic impetus to the community. Today the ski area is organized together with the Fendels ski area . Another network is the Imst – Pitztal – Kaunertal Glacier Park (with the Imst – Gurgltal region ) around the Kaunergrat Nature Park .
