In the list of shellac records of Lester Young all pieces of the musician are added, he between 1938 (I Know That You Know) and 1954 (I'm in the Mood for Love) under his own name as a 78 rpm vinyl records for the label Aladdin / Philo , Clef / Norgran , Keynote , Mercury , Savoy and Vanguard . This also includes the releases of the Kansas City Five for Commodore Records and the Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts with Lester Young, but not his sideman recordings, such as with the Metronome All-Stars and with Una Mae Carlisle , Helen Humes , Billie Holiday , Teddy Wilson , Johnny Guarnieri and the big band recordings of the Count Basie Orchestra from 1936 to 1940 (see list of the Count Basie Orchestra's top 30 shellac records ). Lester Young's recording from July 1942 was meant as a final greeting to the recently deceased Bunny Berigan . Young had recorded the song with Billie Holiday in 1938. His intense interpretation of the standard influenced the ballad play of later musicians such as Stan Getz and Zoot Sims . |
