List of stumbling blocks in Freren
The list of stumbling blocks in Freren contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Freren as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Freren. When it was moved in June 2012, a total of 27 stumbling blocks were laid so far. (As of June 2019)

Josef Meyberg was born on July 24, 1863 in Freren. From 1889 to 1914 he was head of the Jewish community. On June 6, 1939, he and his wife Emma fled to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and from February 4, 1943, he was imprisoned in the Westerbork assembly camp. From there he was deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp on February 9, 1943 , where he was murdered on arrival on February 12, 1943 and later declared dead. | |||

From there she was deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp on February 9, 1943 and murdered on February 12, 1943. | |||

Frieda Meyberg was born on June 8, 1894 as the daughter of Josef and Emma Meyberg. After training in a hotel in Nuremberg , she moved to Hamm and married a Catholic man in 1918. She later moved with him to Osnabrück . In January 1945 she was arrested and deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp . She survived, was freed and brought back by the DRK . She died on May 2, 1975. | |||

After liquidation of the ghetto in November 1943 onward transport to Auschwitz took place where in the selection were separated after the arrival of the three-year-old son Samuel and his grandmother Emma. He and his wife Erika survived the Holocaust and were liberated; they later moved to Stockholm . | |||

The marriage resulted in their son Samuel, born in 1939. On December 11, 1941, she was deported to the Riga ghetto with her mother Emma, her husband Martin and their son Samuel. Her mother and son Samuel were murdered in Auschwitz concentration camp. After her liberation, Erika Manne moved to Stockholm with her husband in 1945. | |||
