The list of listed objects in Linz-Ebelsberg contains the 20 listed , immovable objects in the Linz district of Ebelsberg .

Monument: Name of the monument. The designation is given as it is used by the Federal Monuments Office (BDA) . The internal object identification number (ObjectID) is also given.

By calling up the link Location , the location of the monument is displayed in various map projects. The cadastral community (KG) is indicated below this.
Description: Brief information about the monument.

The table is sorted alphabetically according to the location of the monument. The sorting criterion is the cadastral municipality and within this the address.

The building was first mentioned in 1526. Burned down during the Battle of the French in 1809, it was largely adapted afterwards. It was the Ledererhaus until 1890 and then belonged to the Steininger iron foundry. The three-storey house has a strongly classicist, elegant Biedermeier facade that is blinded to the simple old building.

The original facility was first mentioned in a document in 1154. Since its inception, the castle complex has been partially completely destroyed or severely damaged due to armed conflicts and fire disasters. The castle was owned by Passau for several centuries, and in 1824 it was auctioned off to the public. The highest bidder was Karl Theodor Kast, who moved in in 1826 and began restoring the fire and war damage - at that time, Ebelsberg Castle was given its current appearance. During the Second World War , the castle was damaged by bombs. The last general restoration took place in 1978. The two-storey complex with the smooth, lightly painted facade fronts and flat saddle roofs can be seen far above the city area due to its elevated location.

The monument - the work of the Linz sculptor Karl Hafner - was erected in 1890, crowned with a double-headed eagle in 1909 (?) And unveiled again on May 2, 1909 in the presence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand . A stone obelisk stands on a high three-part base. The base bears a plaque with the inscription: “Dedicated to the Austrian soldiers who fell in heroic combat on May 3, 1809, including numerous Viennese volunteers vd communities Ebelsberg u. Vienna. ”The edging of the monument consists of three heavy iron chains, which are held by four iron, vertical, replicated cannon barrels.

The Ebelsberg parish church was first mentioned in 1263. It burned down in May 1809. Only part of the main walls and the tower have been preserved. The new building was completed in 1811. In 1829 the church was consecrated to St. John the Baptist by the Linz bishop Gregor Thomas Ziegler . The interior is designed in Art Nouveau style, the apse and the side altar are by Leopold Forstner .

The fountain consists of a hexagonal granite fountain basin . A central well pillar bears an obelisk and a plaque with the inscription: “I am a silent witness of the hardship and anguish of war that Ebelsberg suffered. Anno 1809 ". The fountain originally stood in the middle of the square. In 1965 it was dismantled and put up again in 1966 on the forecourt of the church.

The Fadingerhaus was built at the beginning of the 16th century. Since the 17th century Gasthaus Zum Goldenen Hirschen. In the 19th century the building was extended and renovated in 1982. The wrought-iron house sign dates from the second third of the 18th century. A red marble plaque, which was put up on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his death in 1926, commemorates Stefan Fadinger , who died here on today's Fadingerplatz.

First mentioned in 1526. Originally an inn, former market judge's house, from 1767 market house. Building consisting of two houses that were merged in the 16th century. At the junction of the two houses there is a wide, chamfered arched gate from the 16th century. The facade was renewed in the 20th century in a simple, historicizing form.

The current structure of the building probably dates back to the 15th or 16th century. It was first mentioned in 1526. The main facade of the two-part town house dates from the last third of the 18th century and faces Fadingerplatz. The top floor is crowned by a basket-arched gable. In the gable field the inscription: “In memory of the reconstruction after the unfortunate day, May 3, 1809” (the dating can only refer to the uppermost part of the facade).

The statue was created at the beginning of the 18th century and shows St. John Nepomuk , carrying a cross, accompanied by a putti . On the square base the inscription: “1706 B JOANNES NEPOMVCE NVS”.

The cemetery has been documented since the 13th century. However, it is likely to have existed since the 9th century, as recent research indicates. In 1782 the cemetery next to the church (Fadingerplatz) was moved to its current location on Florianer Straße. It has been expanded several times; the oldest part is in the northern area (near Wiener Strasse).

In 1717 the chapel was donated by carer Johann Wilhelm König. The last renovation took place in 1983. Four brick pillars support a gable roof with a wooden gable and cross. In the back wall there is a basket arched niche. In it a photo of the Madonna and a glass image of St. George. The niche is closed off by an iron grille and an iron bar.

Master carpenter Josef Hinterberger and his wife had the chapel built in 1870 in honor of "Mother Anna and Maria". The chapel originally stood at the Hinterberger estate at Kremsmünstererstraße 22. The chapel was demolished in 1989 to widen the street and rebuilt in 2003 at its current location. Instead of the old sacred objects, which can no longer be found, there is now a bronze relief by the Linz sculptor Laszlo Bota and two sculptures by the sculptor Agidius Gamsjäger . The chapel is also called the "fisherman's chapel".

The school was built in 1788. After the fire of 1809, the building was restored in 1810 - the costs for this were borne by St. Florian Monastery. The construction plan, drawn by master mason Schlagbauer, is in the parish archive. In 1873 the second floor was added by master builder Breinesberger .

The two-storey building - which stands in an exposed location that is important for the townscape - was built in 1897 and served as a fire station and for residential purposes. After the volunteer fire brigade moved out, business premises were set up. On the northwest side there is a round corner tower with a distinctive domed roof.

The "plague column" on Brucknerweg dates from the year 1750. On a Tuscan column made of granite is a four-sided lantern, which is crowned with a stone ball. In the gable fields there are sheet metal plates; the representations on it are no longer recognizable. Since there is an almost identical pillar at the entrance to Ebelsberg Castle, the two objects are more like boundary stones or normal Marterl.

The extensive complex was built between 1938 and 1940 and in the following years served as accommodation for units of the Waffen-SS, employees of the German Reichsbahn and as a camp for refugees from the East. After the end of the war until 1950, American occupation troops were housed in the barracks. From 1947 the barracks were also used as a DP camp . 1951–1956 it housed the Gendarmerie School of the B-Gendarmerie. On May 15, 1967, the barracks was named "Hiller barracks" after Johann Freiherr von Hiller . The buildings are arranged in several rows, three-story blocks with tiled hipped roofs. The almost square windows are still originally sprouted. Dormers and chimneys were built or changed.

The school was built in 1946. The builder was the municipality of Linz, it was planned by the architect Fritz Fanta . The school is located in the Hiller barracks complex , but is separated from the barracks area by a fence.

The main building, the Stöttingerhof is a big farm house in the outbuildings is a free stadl and an excerpt house . The estate was first mentioned in 1162 as "villicatio in Stetting". Essentially, the northern residential wing and eastern stable wing from 1846 and the southern and western barn wing from 1889 are preserved today.
