List of music professions
Members of the musical professions engage in all kinds of activities that are necessary for the live performance, recording and reproduction of musical works.
This includes the producing activities (composing, arranging, orchestrating / instrumenting and producing), the reproducing activities (singing and playing instruments), the educational activities (teaching) and the musicological activities (music research).
Supporting professions, such as: director backstage (stage manager), lighting, sound mixing and announcements of pieces of music (conferencier, disk jockey) etc. are directly concerned with music, but do not require any musical skills. Training and requirements relate to technical or administrative priorities.
