The Livenza ( Furlanic : Livence , Venetian : Łivènsa ) is a 112 km long river in northeast Italy . It rises from several karst springs at a height of only about 50 m above sea level at the southern foot of Monte Cavallo near Polcenigo and crosses the area of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in a south-easterly direction . It flows into the Adriatic Sea at Porto Santa Margherita near Caorle . The Livenza forms the drainage area between the Piave and Tagliamento , around Pordenone , Conegliano and Oderzo .

Places on the river are: Caneva , Sacile , Brugnera , Portobuffolé , Motta di Livenza , Santo Stino di Livenza , Torre di Mosto , La Salute di Livenza , San Giorgio di Livenza and Porto Santa Margherita.

The most important tributary of the Livenza on the left is the Meduna (with characteristic infiltration) and on the right the Meschio von Vittorio Veneto .
