Location of the Lochmühle (bold) in the Prichsenstadt municipality

Lochmühle is a remote area in the district of Prichsenstadt hamlet Altenschönbach in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Lochmühle is relatively centrally located in the Prichsenstadt municipality on the Schönbach inflow into the Schwarzach . Further north, separated by the Marbach, is Neudorf . In the north and northeast, the district extends the upper Schwarzacher hamlet Siegsdorf in the district of Schweinfurt in the area of Prichsenstadt. Altenschönbach itself can be found south-east. The main town, Prichsenstadt, is some distance in the southwest. Federal road 286 runs west of the mill .

history

The exact age of the Lochmühle is not known. Perhaps the mill was already part of the village of Kleinschönbach , which was burned down in 1466. The Kleinschönbachers then moved to Prichsenstadt and the village fell into disrepair . Possibly the mill remained as the last structural remnant. Later, at the latest by the beginning of the 19th century, their corridors were assigned to the district of Altenschönbach.

In the second half of the 20th century, the mill consisted of several buildings. In 1983 Erhard Karb moved into the plant and founded a mechanical engineering company there . Gradually, the old buildings were torn down to make way for modern production facilities. A production hall with offices was built by 1992, and in 2002 a large production hall was also built. The Lochmühle was last expanded in 2010. Only a small house from the old mill still exists today.
