Lolita Ritmanis

Lolita L. Ritmanis-Mattson (born November 1, 1962 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American composer who worked with Kristopher Carter and Michael McCuistion for cartoons such as The Justice League , Teen Titans , Batman: The Brave and the Bold and recently composed Young Justice .

Life

Lolita L. Ritmans-Mattson was one of three children of Dr. Andris Ritmanis and Asja Ritmanis, Latvian refugees from World War II who immigrated to the United States in 1949 , were born in Portland, Oregon. During her childhood she learned piano , flute , guitar and singing , so that after composing her first piece at the age of eleven, she and the Latvian music group Dzintars traveled through Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the USA at the age of 16 toured . After attending Cleveland High School from 1976 to 1980 , she moved to Los Angeles to complete the composition and film composition program at the Dick Grove School Of Music . She was taught by Dick Grove , Mundell Lowe , Lalo Schifrin and Henry Mancini , among others .

After she subsequently found work at Warner Bros. and Disney , it was the composer Shirley Walker , who she hired in her team around Kristopher Carter and Michael McCuistion for the cartoon series Batman . After composing for series like Superman , Batman of the Future and Teen Titans together , she founded their own music company Dynamic Music Partners with Carter and McCuistion in 2007, after Walker's death .

Ritmanis is married to music producer Mark Mattson, with whom she has three children and lives in Studio City , California, where they operate two recording studios.
