Batman is a cartoon based on the 1992–1999 Batman cartoon series . The film, shot by Curt Geda in 2003 , was released on DVD on November 6, 2003 by Warner Home Video in Germany .

action

A new superhero appears in Gotham City : Batwoman . The press and Batman are puzzling over the identity of the woman who imitates Batman in appearance and method. Batman and Robin meet her for the first time when she prevents a weapons delivery from the penguin and his partner Rupert Thorne, without taking any account of endangered human life.

Batman or Bruce Wayne initially suspects that Kathy Duquesne, daughter of crime boss Carlton Duquesne, is behind the whole thing. She never got over her mother's death and blames her father for it. Bruce Wayne and Kathy hook up and a little affair develops. When they enter the Penguin's Club together, however, Batwoman appears. A battle develops in which the club is ultimately destroyed. Batman steals a piece of a novel metal from the crime scene. The suspicion now falls on Dr. Roxanne "Rocky" Ballantine, whose fiancé is innocently in jail for the penguin, but she has an alibi. Batman finally learns the truth: Kathy and Rocky share a secret identity with Detective Bullock's new partner Sonia Alcana. Sonia also has a motive: her family was ruined by Rupert Thorne.

Kathy is now on her way to blow up a ship that is supposed to transport weapons again. However, she is captured and exposed by Bane . Batman, Robin, Sonia and Rocky take on the fight against the four villains and can free Kathy. However, this blows up the ship and puts everyone in danger. While Batman fights Bane, Sonia and Rocky try to stop the penguin and Thorne. With the help of Robin, they do this. Meanwhile, Kathy is saved by her father at the last second. Batman can kill Bane, who falls into the burning wreck of the ship.

After the showdown, Sonia quits duty, but first relieves Rocky's fiancé. Bruce Wayne continues dating Kathy, who is reconciled with her father, who is about to testify against his former partners.

background

The film was made four years after the Batman cartoon series ended. The old cast could be reanimated as voice actors, only the penguin was spoken in contrast to the series by David Ogden Stiers . The script is based on a story by Alan Burnett and written by Michael Reaves.

The French singer Cherie appears as a cartoon character in the film and sings her song Betcha Never from her self-titled debut album from 2004.
