This page gives an overview of the adaptations of the cartoon character Batman in other media. Above all, adaptations in films, series and video games for cinema and television are shown.

The figure of Batman has also been used repeatedly in the visual arts . The artist Mark Chamberlain portrayed Batman and Robin as a homoerotic couple (2005). HC Artmann takes up this topic in his poem Batman and Robin, who are also lying in bed . Another interpretation was created by Cherry Goldenberg . Batman is also the motif of lithographs by the pop art artist Mel Ramos .

Short films

• Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt

The two main actors of the 1960s series try to get the stolen Batmobile back and remember the filming of the series.

• Batman Dead End:

Joker has escaped from Arkham and Batman picks up his trail. He finds him too, but Joker is kidnapped by aliens . Then the aliens and Predators pounce on Batman. Despite his weapons, Batman is surrounded in the end. What happens to Joker is up to the viewer.

• Patient J:

Joker is examined by a psychiatrist in Arkham . Joker tells how he became Joker and how he killed Batman's assistant Robin.

• The Death of the Joker:

Joker is hiding in a theater. Batman finds Joker and kills him in a fight.

• Batman Beyond

Terry McGinnis finds Bruce Wayne injured in the Bath Cave. When asked who hurt him, Bruce replies that he hurt himself. A robot who looks like Bruce Wayne in his Batman disguise fights Terry. Terry destroys him, but more Batman robots are waiting for her in the cave. They get ready for a fight between them and seven other Batmans.

This short film is drawn in the Batman-of-the-Future style (originally Batman Beyond ) and was produced for the 75th anniversary of Batman in 2014. The Batmans from Beware the Batman , The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold , The Dark Knight Returns , Batman and Batman with Robin the Boy Wonder appear as other Batman robots . The last to be shown is the original Batman from the Detective Comics.

There is also a large number of unauthorized fan productions.

Radio plays

In 1989, on the occasion of Tim Burton's film Batman, a short radio play series called Batman was released in Germany on the OH ha label . The series consisted of a total of nine episodes, each about 30-40 minutes in length. The radio play refers to the feature film by Burton, which is retold in the first episode. So all the important characters from this film reappear. Besides the Joker (who survived the fall from the film) and his assistants, there are no other known enemies of Batman. The radio play thematizes the friendship between Batman and Jim Gordon much more than the films did. Without exception, new speakers were used for the recordings.

Furthermore, a two-part radio play was released for the feature film Batman Forever , based on the film soundtrack and supplemented with a narrator.

In July 2013, the label gave high scores Music partnering with Warner Bros. known. By 2014, a total of seven new radio plays based on the stories Gotham Knight and Inferno had been published. The story starts after the movie "Batman Begins", so that u. a. that of Dr. Crane caused problems to keep Batman busy. The third season in 2014/15 is the six-part implementation of the story No Man's Land . Batman is spoken by Sascha Rotermund in this series .
