Loren Allred (born September 7, 1989 ) is an American singer and songwriter from Salt Lake City .

biography

Loren Allred comes from a musical family. Your mother Dr. Carol Ann Allred is a well-known soprano, her father Dr. Brady R. Allred is a conductor and choir director. She grew up in Pennsylvania, but moved to Utah when she was a teenager when her father took over the leadership of the Salt Lake Choral Artists . She took singing lessons and studied musical theater at Weber State University in Ogden and the Berklee College of Music in Boston . Her self-made videos on YouTube were discovered by the singer Ne-Yo and brought her a record deal with his label Island / Def Jam .

In 2012, Allred took part in the third season of The Voice . She made it into the live shows too, but then dropped out in Week 1. Two years later she signed up for a film-musical project by the authors Benj Pasek and Justin Paul . She was hired as the singing voice for actress Rebecca Ferguson , who played a leading role in The Greatest Showman . Meanwhile the two authors had become famous through La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen , and so The Greatest Showman became a great success. The film soundtrack reached number 1 on the US album charts and several songs were to be found in the single charts, including Never Enough sung by Allred .
