Lorenz Petutschnig (born February 13, 1993 in Bad Sauerbrunn ) is an Austrian beach volleyball player .

Career

In 2010, Petutschnig took 19th place with Lukas Hirsch at the U20 European Championships in Catania . In the same year he and Christoph Dressler finished fifth in the U19 World Cup and the U18 European Championship in Porto . At the U19 World Cup in 2011, he came in fifth again with Tobias Winter in Umag . Petutschnig / Winter finished the U20 European Championships in Tel Aviv in seventh place and in the U23 competition in Porto, Petutschnig and Dressler finished ninth again. He achieved the same result with Helmut Moser at the Junior World Championships in Halifax . In 2012 he formed a new duo with Thomas Kunert . Kunert / Petutschnig played the Brasília and Mysłowice Open. In Rome they completed their first Grand Slam. They also took part in the Grand Slams in Berlin , Klagenfurt and Stare Jabłonki . In Hartberg , Petutschnig won the U20 European Championship with Winter. With Dressler he repeated the ninth place at the Junior World Championships in Halifax. In 2013 Kunert / Petutschnig came in ninth at the Anapa Open for the first time in the top ten of a tournament on the World Tour. In the junior tournaments, Petutschnig continued to be successful with winter. The duo came third in the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice and ninth in the U21 tournament in Umag. On the national tour, Kunert / Petutschnig won in rum and came second in Graz . At the European Championships in Klagenfurt , they won two of their three preliminary round games and moved into the first knockout round as third in the group. There they defeated the experienced Dutch Numbersdor / Schuil before they had to admit defeat to the eventual European champions Gavira / Herrera in the round of 16 . Petutschnig / Kunert finished ninth at the Anapa Open. With winter Petutschnig was fifth at the U22 European Championships in Varna .

At the end of 2013 he played three Grand Slams with Alexander Horst . In Moscow the duo came fourth, in São Paulo and Xiamen they came in 17th twice. In 2014 Petutschnig / Winter finished 17th at the Fuzhou Open and ninth in Puerto Vallarta . They also played their first joint Grand Slam in Shanghai . In Quartu Sant'Elena they took part in the European Championship .
