Christoph Dressler (born August 2, 1993 in Feldbach ) is an Austrian beach volleyball player .

Career

In 2010, Dressler and Lorenz Petutschnig finished fifth in the U19 World Championship in Porto and fourth in the U18 European Championship in the same place. In 2011, the duo also finished ninth in the U23 European Championship, which also took place in Porto. Dressler also took part in the 2011 U19 World Cup in Umag with Anton Menner , but retired just as early as he did at the U21 World Cup in Halifax with Fabian Kandolf . In 2012 Dressler / Kandolf played two CEV satellite tournaments and the Grand Slam of the FIVB World Tour in Klagenfurt . At the next U21 World Cup in Halifax, Dressler competed with Petutschnig again and came in ninth. The same result came with Kandolf at the U23 World Cup 2013 in Mysłowice . At the U21 World Cup in Umag, however, it was only enough for Dressler with Lukas Peter Stranger to finish 17th. He then won the national tournament in Fürstenfeld with Tobias Winter and was ninth at the Anapa Open. Dressler / Kandolf also finished ninth at the U22 European Championship in Varna .

Then Dressler formed a new duo with Thomas Kunert . On the World Tour 2013 and 2014 some 17th places were the best results for the duo. They only made it into the top ten at the CEV satellite tournaments. At the U23 World Cup 2014, which was held again in Mysłowice , Dressler and Kandolf took 17th place. He was more successful at the U22 European Championship in Fethiye , where he won the bronze medal with Benedikt Kattner . In 2015 Dressler / Kunert came in ninth in Rio de Janeiro for the first time in the top ten of an open tournament on the World Tour and a little later followed a fifth place in Puerto Vallarta . At the beginning of 2016 there were further top ten results at the open tournaments in Kisch , Xiamen and Fuzhou . At the 2016 European Championships in Biel / Bienne , Dressler / Kunert came third in the first knockout round and had to admit defeat to the Dutch Numbersdor / Varenhorst in the tie- break . At the Continental Cup in Stavanger , together with Alexander Huber and Robin Seidl, they won an additional starting place for Austria at the Olympic Games , which Huber / Seidl then took. Then there were u. a. a fifth place at the CEV Masters in Jūrmala .

In 2017 Dressler / Kunert finished fifth and ninth at the three-star tournaments of the World Tour in Xiamen and The Hague and also ninth at the CEV Masters in Baden . For the 2017 World Cup in Vienna , they received one of the host nation's two starting places. After a third place in their preliminary group, Dressler / Kunert were eliminated in the Lucky Loser round against their compatriots Seidl / Winter .

In 2018, Dressler started together with Robin Seidl and later with Alexander Huber .
