Lorenzo León Alvarado

Lorenzo León Alvarado OdeM (born May 31, 1928 in Callao , † February 17, 2020 in Lima ) was a Peruvian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Huacho .

Life

Lorenzo León Alvarado joined the religious community of Mercedarians and was ordained a priest on January 27, 1952 after completing his theological training .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Huacho on August 3, 1967. The Archbishop of Lima , Juan Cardinal Landázuri Ricketts, OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on September 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Carlos Oviedo Cavada OdeM, auxiliary bishop in Concepción , and Ignacio Arbulú Pineda , bishop of Huánuco .

A few weeks before reaching the age limit for bishops, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation on April 22, 2003.
