Lucas Martínez Lara

Lucas Martínez Lara (born March 13, 1943 in Villa de la Paz , San Luis Potosí state , Mexico ; † April 9, 2016 ) was a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Matehuala .

Life

Lucas Martínez Lara received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of San Luis Potosí on October 27, 1968 . From 1969 to 1972 he was vicar of the parish of Real de Catorce , from 1972 to 1979 Martínez held the same position in the parish of Cristo Rey . Until his appointment as bishop he was pastor in Santa Catalina de Rioverde .

On October 5, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the bishop of Matehuala. The Archbishop of San Luis Potosí, Luis Morales Reyes , donated him episcopal ordination on December 14 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello , and the Archbishop Emeritus of San Luis Potosí, Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez . He died of diabetes in April 2016.
