Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez

Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez (born March 5, 1952 in Valle de Santiago ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Cristóbal de Las Casas .

Life

Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez was ordained a priest on July 25, 1975 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on May 28, 1997 as the first bishop of the diocese of Matehuala, established on the same date . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Justo Mullor García , on July 31 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the future Cardinal Alberto Suárez Inda , Archbishop of Morelia , and Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez , Archbishop of San Luis Potosí .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on January 28, 2006 Bishop of Tehuacán . On November 3, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of San Cristóbal de Las Casas . The inauguration took place on January 1 of the following year.
