Its territory includes the Municipalities Chapulco , Tepanco de López , Santiago Miahuatlán , Nicolás Bravo , Tehuacan , San Antonio Cañada , Vicente Guerrero , Zapotitlán , San Gabriel Chilac , Altepexi , Ajalpan , Zinacatepec , Eloxochitlán , Zoquitlàn , San Sebastián Tlacotepec , Caltepec , San Jose Miahuatlán , Coxcatlán , Coyomeapan , Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez , Atexcal , Yehualtepec , Xochitlán Todos Santos , Coyotepec , Ixcaquixtla , Juan N. Méndez , Cañada Morelos and Palmar de Bravo in the state of Puebla .

The diocese of Tehuacán was on January 13, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quem ad modum from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Antequera and the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles as a suffragan .
