Lucas Vogelsang (born August 29, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German author , journalist and podcaster .

Life

Vogelsang, who grew up in Berlin-Spandau , went to the Zeitenspiegel reportage school Günter Dahl in Reutlingen after graduating from high school . He then worked as a freelance writer for the Tagesspiegel in Berlin and founded the 11 Friends Live Ticker. In 2011, Vogelsang took over the research for a play by Rainald Grebe and conducted the interviews that formed the content of the play. On August 31, 2011 the work of Grebe Völker looks at this city premiered at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin. Lucas Vogelsang then became an author and editor for the ARD evening talk show Gottschalk Live . From 2011 to 2017 Vogelsang wrote the monthly column "(K) one of us" in Playboy . In 2014 Rowohlt Verlag published his first book “And now for the weather - 100 years of world history in the live ticker”.

From 2015 to 2018 Vogelsang was an author for the daily newspaper Die Welt and the weekly newspaper Welt am Sonntag . During this time he published his collection of reports "Heimaterde - a world tour through Germany" at Aufbau Verlag , which deals with the lives of migrants in Germany and was on the Spiegel bestseller list for weeks . The Hamburger Abendblatt wrote about it that it was "... a book that is as touching as it is thought-provoking and which refuses to pigeonhole thinking".

In October 2018 Vogelsang became the Ruhr town clerk and lived in the Ruhr area for one year. During this time he realized the magazine “Ruhr areas” in collaboration with the Witten photographer Philipp Wente and the Hamburg publisher Oliver Wurm.

In 2019, Lucas Vogelsang returned with “What are they doing here? German Borderline Experiences ”back to Rowohlt-Verlag . Together with the actor Joachim Król , he drove from the west to the east for this book to meet people whose lives had started all over again when the Wall came down.

Since April 2017, Lucas Vogelsang has been publishing the weekly Online Marketing Rockstars (OMR) podcast Soccer MML together with Maik Nöcker and Micky Beisenherz .
