Lucy Glanville (born October 16, 1994 ) is an Australian cross-country skier and biathlete .
Lucy Glanville lives and trains in Sydney and Cooma , where she lives with her trainer Nick Almoukov and his son Alexei Almoukov . She starts for the Bonoona Ski Club , previously the City Tattersalls Boonoona . She started cross-country skiing in 2004 and also did other sports such as gymnastics and soccer, until she had primarily devoted herself to cross-country skiing since 2007 and was the best young skier in Australia for the next few years.
Glanville has contested its first international races since 2009, especially in the cross-country skiing Australia / New Zealand Cup . In almost ten races she achieved podium results without winning a race. A year later she was in Nové Město na Moravě 51st of the individual, again 60th and thus the last qualifier for the pursuit race in the sprint and 58th in pursuit. Shortly afterwards she took part in the junior races of the Open European Championships in 2011 in Ridnaun and finished in the individual 43rd and 52nd place in the sprint and was lapped in the pursuit race. In the further course of the year Glanville also went to the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Nové Město and came in 48th place in the sprint race and was again lapped in the pursuer. In 2012 the Open European Championships in Osrblie became the first major event in which the Australian was 41st in the junior singles. The Junior World Championships in 2012 in Kontiolahti followed shortly afterwards . In Finland Glanville was 52nd in the individual and 73rd in the sprint.
In 2011 Glanville contested her first women's races in the IBU Cup in Osrblie , where she immediately won points in her first individual as 37th. A little later she achieved her best position in the racing series so far with eleventh place in a sprint in Bansko . The first major event for women was the 2012 World Championships in Ruhpolding . There she was used in two races, in which she was 108th of the individual and 112th of the sprint. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished 82nd in the individual and 78th in the 7.5 km sprint race.
