Count Ludwig Ferdinand von Kielmannsegg (born July 27, 1798 in Hanover , † July 19, 1873 ) was a German politician, Hanoverian and Prussian civil servant and owner of the lordships of Cappenberg and Scheda .

Life

He came from the Holstein-Hanoverian family von Kielmansegg . His father was the royal Hanoverian Oberstallmeister Ludwig Friedrich Graf von Kielmansegg (1765-1850), his mother Countess Friederike Eleonore Juliane von Wallmoden (1776-1826) was the daughter of Field Marshal Johann Ludwig von Wallmoden-Gimborn . In 1816 he became an officer in the Hanoverian military service.

On August 28, 1827 he married Therese Freiin vom and zum Stein (1803–1863; a daughter of statesman Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom Stein ). As a result, after the death of von Steins in June 1831, he became the owner of the lordship of Cappenberg near Lünen and Scheda near Wickede . In 1840 he founded the Gräfl on Cappenberg. Kielmanseggsche Brewery, which existed until the First World War. Most of the beers were sold in nearby Münsterland. From 1861 to 1862 he had the master builder Ferdinand Zangerl build the still existing manor house on the Scheda estate .

In addition to his work as a landlord, he worked again in the Hanoverian service from 1839–1846. He then became a member of the Westphalian Provincial Parliament , member of the United State Parliament and 1848-1851 governor in Lauenburg . From 1856 he was a member of the Prussian manor house . From 1864 to 1868 he was the district president in Ratzeburg and in 1865 he was a real secret council .
