Ludwig Helmut Heinrich von Jasmund (born September 3, 1748 in Rödlin , † March 16, 1825 in Stuttgart ) was a Mecklenburg nobleman in the Hessen-Kassel and Württemberg services.

Life

Origin and family

Ludwig Helmuth Heinrich was a member of the originally Rügish , later in Mecklenburg and beyond, noble family of Jasmund . His parents were the Mecklenburg-Strelitzsche manor owner and chamberlain as well as Schleswig - Holstein court councilor Karl Friedrich von Jasmund (1709–1778) and Charlotte, née von Plessen (1708–1783).

His first marriage was in Kassel with Henriette Wilhelmine von Schlotheim (1758–1810) and in 1817 he was married again to Johanna Jung (1783–1856) in Kassel. The first marriage had at least two daughters and a son:

  • Charlotte (1780–1818), ⚭ August von Oertzen (1777–1837), Mecklenburg-Strelitz Minister of State
  • Karl (1782–1847), Prussian district administrator
  • Karoline (1807–1875), ⚭ Baron Adolf von Waechter († 1858), Chamberlain of Württemberg and Chief Tribunal Councilor

Career

Jasmund was the heir to the Mecklenburg estates of Kammin and Riepke .

He entered the service of Hessen-Kassel and was from 1774/1775 as court squire, later chamberlain and from 1784 chamberlain . As “Directeur des Plaisirs” he was responsible for theater performances in Kassel, among other tasks. Finally, in 1793 he was promoted to court marshal in Hessen-Kassel and was then president of the Kassel Higher Appeal Court until 1806/1807, the Napoleonic occupation and incorporation of Hessen-Kassel into the Kingdom of Westphalia .

He then switched to Württemberg services and was in the cabinet of the Württemberg State Ministry from 1807 to 1808 as head of the finance department and from 1808 to 1816 of the spiritual department. Jasmund was legation councilor , senior police officer, state and culture minister and senior curator of the University of Tübingen in Württemberg and was often referred to as a baron . He was also the bearer of the Grand Cross of the royal civil merit order and since May 16, 1803 knight of the Hessian electoral house order of the Golden Lion .
