Ludwig Steinherr (born May 17, 1962 in Munich ) is a German writer.

life and work

After graduating from high school and doing community service, Ludwig Steinherr studied philosophy from 1984 with the minor subjects psychology and education at the Ludwig Maximilians University and the Munich School of Philosophy . As a scholarship holder, he received his doctorate in 1995 under Béla Weissmahr with the thesis Holism , Existence and Identity. A systematic comparison between Quine and Hegel for Doctor of Philosophy. In 1996 he received the Alfred Delp Prize from the Rottendorf Foundation for his dissertation .

Together with Anton G. Leitner , he founded the magazine Das Gedicht in 1992 .

Ludwig Steinherr has been a freelance writer and lecturer in philosophy since 1995. He lives with his family in Munich.

Steinherr has published numerous volumes of poetry as well as contributions to anthologies and journals at home and abroad ( Der Große Conrady , Reclam's great book of German poems , World Literature Today , Modern Poetry in Translation , etc.).

In 2003 he was elected a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts .

Steinherr was a guest author at numerous international literary events: u. a. Journées Littéraires de Mondorf (Luxembourg) 1995, German-Arabic Lyrik-Salon in Damascus 2006, European Literature Night , London 2012, King's Lynn Poetry Festival 2012, Advanced Lecture Series , University of Notre Dame (USA) 2012, StAnza - Scotland´s International Poetry Festival 2013, Birmingham Literature Festival 2013, Ilkley Literature Festival 2013, Druskininkai Poetic Fall 2014 (Lithuania).
