Ludwig von Jazdzewski

Ludwig von Jazdzewski (Polish Ludwik Józef Walenty Jażdżewski ) (born February 10, 1838 in Posen , † January 23, 1911 in Berlin ) was a Polish Catholic theologian and politician of the Polish minority in the German Empire .

Life

He attended the high school St. Maria Magdalena in Poznan and the theological seminars in Poznan and Gniezno . He then studied Catholic theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . There doctorate he 1861 Dr. theol. He then traveled extensively across Europe. Also in 1861 he was ordained a priest. He was initially a religion teacher in Poznan and Krotoschin , and later cathedral preacher at St. John's Cathedral (Warsaw) . Jadzewski was also professor of exegesis at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw . He was an apostolic missionary in England for two years before becoming provost in Zduny in 1866 . From 1890 he was provost of the collegiate monastery in Schroda .

He published Zeno, Veronensis episcopus (Regensburg 1861) and print some sermons and speeches. Jadzewski was a member of the Historical-Literary Society Paris .

Jazdzewski was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1874 until his death . 1872–1874, 1878–1897 and 1890–1898 he was also a member of the German Reichstag . He was a member of the Polish parliamentary group in both parliaments . He participated primarily in debates on church and school issues.
